Rz. Pinelliae Preparatum Zhi Ban Xia 6g Dries Dampness, transforms Phlegm, descends Qi and alleviates nausea.
With Huang Lian, for epigastric distention and indigestion due to a simultaneous invasion of Hot and Cold pathogenic influences into the Stomach.
With Huang Lian and Gua Lou Ren, for Phlegm-Heat clumping in the chest and epigastrium with a stifling, distended sensation in the epigastrium that is aggravated by pressure, coughing of viscous, yellow sputum, a greasy, yellow tongue coat and a slippery, rapid pulse.
With Huang Qin, for Phlegm-Heat induced Rebellious Qi with cough, nausea, and vomiting.
With Gus Lou Ren, for focal distention in the chest and diaphragm due to clumping of Phlegm and Heat leading to Qi Stagnation and chest Bi due to clumping of sticky, thick and turbid Phlegm.
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 3g Releases the Exterior, induces perspiration, disperses Cold, warms the Lungs and stops cough.
With Zhi Ban Xia, for productive cough due to Phlegm-Dampness.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 2g Clears Heat, drains Dampness, drains Fire and resolves Fire toxicity.
With Huang Qin, drains pathogenic Heat from the Upper and Middle Jiaos for high fever, redness, swelling and pain of the head and face, dry mouth, parched throat, ulcerations of the mouth and tongue, epistaxis, rashes and irritability in warm-febrile disease.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 2g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, drains Fire, detoxifies, cools the Blood, stops bleeding and calms ascending Liver Yang.
With Chai Hu, for Heat in the Shao Yang with alternating chills and fever, and nausea.
Rx. Bupleuri Chai Hu 4g Resolves Shao Yang disorders and reduces fever (harmonizes the Exterior and Interior).
With Huang Qin clears Liver and Gallbladder Heat.
With Huang Qin and Jiang Ban Xia, for Shao Yang disorders with alternating chills and fever and a sensation of fullness in the hypochondria and chest.
Sm. Trichosanthis Gua Lou Ren 15g Clears Heat, transforms Hot Phlegm and expands the chest.
With Jiang Ban Xia, Huang Qin, Huang Lian and Chai Hu, for cough with chest pain and difficult to expectorate sputum with extreme Heat.
Rx. Ginseng Ren Shen 1.5g Tonifies Lung Qi.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 1g Moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, stops cough and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
Fr. Jujube Da Zao 2g Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
